CHEP Supply Chain Solutions Helped Deliver Over $30 Million in Value for Customers

Wholesum Harvest Partners with CHEP on Sustainability

New data released by CHEP North America, a member of the Brambles Group, shows consumer goods companies that collaborated with CHEP to optimize their supply chains generated more than $30 million in savings and new revenue in twelve months. During the same time period, customers also made their supply chain operations more environmentally sustainable by eliminating empty truck miles and CO2 emissions from their transportation networks.

From July 2015 to July 2016, companies partnered with CHEP to implement innovative solutions across their supply chain that:

  • Generated $20 million in savings
  • Created $13 million in incremental revenue
  • Eliminated more than 3.5 million empty miles, resulting in a reduction of 13 million pounds of CO2, equivalent to the energy needed to operate 631 US homes for one year

CHEP also unveiled a new case study at the 2016 PMA Fresh Summit, showing how the company’s partnership with Wholesum Harvest, one of North America’s fastest growing providers of organic fruits and vegetables, is helping make the company more efficient and environmentally sustainable at the same time.

Wholesum converted to CHEP shared and reusable pallets for handling, warehousing and transporting their produce, generating efficiency and environmental benefits across their supply chain. To further reduce Wholesum’s environmental footprint, CHEP helped them utilize carbon offset credits to fund the “Improved Cookstoves” project in Mexico. Wholesum’s credits helped provide 30,000 families with more efficient, safer and sustainable wood burning stoves for cooking, allowing this company to deliver on its social responsibility commitment.
