The Nunes Company, Inc., a leader in the branded fresh produce arena, has announced the signing of a multi-year contract to use the CHEP pallet pooling system to ship its full line of products from the company`s facilities. The Nunes Company, marketers of Foxy fruits and vegetables, is now shipping product on CHEP pallets to the supermarket, foodservice, warehouse club and other wholesale trade channels from its Salinas, Huron and Oxnard, CA and Yuma, AZ facilities.

The Nunes Company joined the CHEP pallet pooling program in 2000 after using limited-use pallets. Since starting with CHEP, the company has experienced dramatic improvements in shipping productivity at its facilities and those of receiving companies.

“Our company is committed to delivering the highest quality produce to our valued customers in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. The CHEP system helps us accomplish these goals, while reducing the impact we and our customers have on the environment,” said Tom Nunes, president of The Nunes Company, Inc.

“The Nunes Company is a leading innovator in the areas of customer service and productivity, and now adds leader in delivering environmental benefits to the supply chain to that list. The contract extension also confirms the importance of the CHEP program to the grower`s efforts to operate an efficient produce supply chain,” said Tim Smith, Vice President, New Business Development, CHEP USA.
