CHEP Named as Top 100 Tech Provider to the Food and Beverage Industry – Eighth Year

Innovation paves the way for CHEP’s eighth consecutive recognition as Top 100 Tech Provider to the Food and Beverage industry

CHEP Pallecon Solutions North America is proud to have once again been recognised for its leadership in providing technology to the global food and beverage supply chain by Food Logistics, as part of their twelfth annual FL100+ list. Food Logistics is the foremost publication dedicated exclusively to the global food and beverage supply chain. This marks the eighth consecutive year that CHEP has been selected, highlighting its commitment to innovation and the significant role it plays in providing market-leading solutions across the industry’s supply chain.

Lara L. Sowinski, editor-in-chief at Food Logistics, notes the growing importance of technology to the food and beverage industry: “Developments in the software and technology sector are generating new opportunities for growers, food manufacturers, grocery retailers and the many logistics providers that support them. Moreover, cloud-based solutions and mobile connectivity are helping create tools that are more flexible, affordable and responsive, making software and technology even more valuable to those in the global food supply chain.”

One of the key platforms for CHEP’s technological innovations is the CHEP-TRAC container tracking software. This tool provides a number of benefits to CHEP’s customers to help simplify their supply chain, enable smarter decision-making and provide better asset management, including:

  • Barcode and RFID tracking technology
  • Online management of container orders and stock levels
  • Product quality information and reporting, including weight, temperature,
    order quantity and batch number
  • Removal of manual processes and reduced possibility of human error in recording data
  • Real-time GPS tracking of shipments along the supply chain

The continued success of CHEP-TRAC has been reinforced by a range of new additions and advancements in 2015 to meet growing customer needs, including the Containers Mobile Application. This application, which is available for Android and iOS, allows operators at all stages of the supply chain to access CHEP-TRAC via their mobile devices, therefore providing even greater flexibility to meet the demands of globally evolving supply chains.
